WYFSDLG Chapter 85. My Lord Husband

wyfsdlg

The moment Long Yin finished speaking, Feng Qingyun, clutching the stone edge of the spiritual spring pool, suddenly let out a choked sound. If one listened closely, it seemed to be a trembling curse:

“Pervert…”

Long Yin had barely had time to savor being called that when, in the next instant, boundless fragrance exploded throughout the entire pool, so intense with embarrassment that even the moon seemed to retreat a few degrees.

Long Yin froze.

He had never imagined that a few casual words from him would be enough to bring Feng Qingyun’s flowering season early. As for Feng Qingyun, he knelt in the spring water with his head lowered, his entire body flushed crimson.

The unbearable heat of premature ripening mixed with an indescribable sense of shame flooded his heart. He squeezed his eyes shut and bit his lower lip hard, yet the person behind him had no intention of letting him escape so easily.

A hand reached around from behind, pinching his chin and forcing him to turn his head. With a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, Long Yin remarked in pleasant surprise, “So my Little Rose likes this Lord this much?”

Feng Qingyun glared at him with reddened eyes.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t a shred of intimidation in that gaze. Combined with the trembling in his eyes, it only made him look even more alluring.

Long Yin’s restraint finally snapped.

Holding the back of his head, he lowered his head and kissed him fiercely.

Between their soft lips and tongues, the faint fragrance that had lingered before suddenly became overwhelming, as though it might drown a person alive.

Under the moonlight, the waters of the pool churned endlessly. By the end, it had even spilled into the bedchamber itself.

Feng Qingyun squeezed his eyes shut, unable to bear it, pinned against the jade wall of the chamber. His feet could barely find any rest, and every inch of him burned with heat.

Too much…

It was too much.

The helpless sensation of having nothing to support himself made him unbearably nervous. Yet the effects of his flowering season made him enjoy it all the same. The man seemed to sense his arousal. While continuing to torment him, he leaned close and laughed beside his ear.

“Little Palace Master, compared to that foolish puppy, how am I serving you?”

Feng Qingyun knew there was no escaping anything tonight. Resigned, he answered through ragged breaths:

“You’re naturally better than him… gentler…”

Long Yin immediately laughed.

Then, all at once, he stopped moving.

“But didn’t you once say that he surpassed this Lord a hundredfold?” he asked leisurely. “Why have you changed your tune now?”

“Those were…” Feng Qingyun wrapped his arms around Long Yin’s neck and wisely chose the path of survival. “…just sweet words to coax him in bed. How could he possibly compare to you?”

His flowering season had been provoked into arriving early, yet the man deliberately left him hanging. Feng Qingyun felt as though he was on the verge of losing his mind.

And still, the talkative Heavenly Dao continued relentlessly: “Really? Then it seems the Little Palace Master is quite skilled at sweet talk. No wonder you had that foolish dog wagging his tail all the way onto your bed.”

“And you also coaxed this Lord into giving you everything. You keep saying you like me, yet even now you’re unwilling to give me a proper title.”

“Fine, fine, fine…”

Feng Qingyun was truly reaching his limit under this deliberate torment. Tilting his head back, he urged softly: “Once the Xiān Gōng Sect finishes recruiting disciples, I’ll grant you a Dao companion ceremony… all right? Now hurry…”

But Long Yin seized the opportunity to bargain.

“I want two ceremonies.”

Feng Qingyun drew a deep breath and forced himself to remain patient.

“Fine. Two ceremonies, then.”

“The first will be held in the Xiān Gōng Sect. The second in the Demon Palace…”

Feng Qingyun was nearly driven mad by his endless talking.

“Why are you talking so much today?!” he burst out. “If you don’t want to serve me, I’ll find someone else…!”

He had only meant it as a provocation. Even if Long Yin exploded in anger afterward, he was prepared to accept it, but what he never expected was for Long Yin’s gaze to darken.

After a long pause, the man embraced him and bent down, whispering softly beside his ear:

“So Senior finally remembered me?”

“!?”

Hearing that voice, Feng Qingyun’s eyes flew open in shock, as every inch of him radiated disbelief. At that moment, Long Yin’s voice sounded exactly like the familiar, innocent version he knew. Yet his actions were practiced beyond compare.

The contrast was so extreme that it became intoxicating, and Feng Qingyun’s eyes instantly reddened. Pressing a hand against Long Yin’s shoulder, he tried to retreat, but Long Yin merely chuckled beside his ear.

“Didn’t Senior want to see me? Why are you hiding?”

As he spoke, he lowered his head and kissed Feng Qingyun. Even the awkwardness and innocence of his old kissing technique had been replicated perfectly.

The contradiction between above and below became overwhelming.

For one fleeting moment, Feng Qingyun genuinely felt as though he had reunited with the deceased spouse he could never forget, only to be caught in bed with his new lover.

Cornered with nowhere to run, trapped between both sides at once, he was left utterly helpless and mortified. An immense wave of shame instantly drowned all rational thought, and in that moment, he didn’t even dare return the kiss. He shoved the man away and twisted his waist, dropping to the ground in one swift motion.

After all, he was a sword cultivator. If he truly wanted to break free, Long Yin couldn’t possibly restrain him.

Unfortunately, this man excelled at underhanded tactics.

Seeing him flee, Long Yin didn’t even bother maintaining the dignity of the Heavenly Dao, as he released a strand of demonic Qi that slithered up along Feng Qingyun’s calf.

Feng Qingyun had long since learned to guard against such tricks. Even as his leg trembled, he gritted his teeth, pulled his robe closed, and turned to leave.

Yet the demonic Qi climbed higher and higher.

No one knew exactly where it reached, but Feng Qingyun suddenly froze, as shock flashed across his face.

His waist went weak beneath him.

Long Yin, smiling leisurely, walked up behind him and tugged away the robe he had barely managed to close. Under the glow of the night pearls embedded in the palace ceiling, the dark-purple demonic Qi was laid completely bare.

Long Yin looked on with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.

“Why are you running, Senior?”

He gripped Feng Qingyun’s thigh and deliberately raised his voice as he spoke.

“Senior has so many flowers, after all. Wouldn’t it be nice if we all served Senior together?”

Feng Qingyun glared at him, clearly cursing him in his heart. Then he immediately refused:

“No!”

“Why not?”

Long Yin embraced him and pressed him down onto the bedding, face-to-face.

“Isn’t that every man’s dream?”

Feng Qingyun had absolutely no desire to experience such a “blessing”. Terrified that Long Yin’s madness might actually lead him to bring those damned heart demons of his out to play, he hurriedly revealed his true form.

Layer upon layer of blooming flowers instantly covered Long Yin’s face.

For some reason, the flower buds that had been prematurely forced into bloom looked even younger and more delicate than during any of his previous flowering seasons. The petals were so small they could barely conceal the stamens inside, so when they pressed against Long Yin’s face, the stamens immediately brushed against his sharp, handsome nose.

Feng Qingyun’s face instantly turned red.

Beneath the layers of blossoms, Long Yin chuckled softly and asked with exaggerated innocence:

“What is Senior doing?”

The warmth of his breath fell directly upon the flower’s center, and Feng Qingyun felt as though he were melting. Still enduring his embarrassment, he lowered himself and pleaded softly:

“I promised the Young Master before… that I would treat him to flower-honey wine.”

“Now that my flowering season has arrived…” his eyelashes trembled, “please accept it.”

Long Yin stared at him with a smile that made his scalp tingle. Only after letting the silence drag on did he lean forward and brush his lips against Feng Qingyun’s.

As they lingered together, he murmured:

“Feed me yourself, Senior.”

In the end, Feng Qingyun personally fed him the honey from his own mouth. He called him husband, Young Master, Elder Brother… every title Long Yin wanted to hear. Only after he had finally broken down into tears and begged for mercy did the matter of his “adultery” finally come to an end.

Of course, whatever happened inside Feng Qingyun’s bedchamber remained unknown to outsiders.

Even if he had cried himself hoarse calling Long Yin “husband” until no tears remained, the moment he stepped outside, he was still the untouchable Sword Master whom no one in the Xiān Gōng Sect dared meet in the eye.

And although Long Yin had successfully coaxed and bullied him into agreeing to two Dao companion ceremonies, the recruitment of new disciples had only just begun.

It couldn’t simply be abandoned halfway through.

As a result, the Dao companion ceremony that Long Yin had been dreaming about could only be postponed for a few more days, leaving him thoroughly displeased.

Yet he wasn’t willing to vent his frustration on Feng Qingyun.

After all, the disciple recruitment plan had been proposed by the elders, and Feng Qingyun himself was already busy enough during the day. So Long Yin found somewhere else to direct his irritation.

After fully recovering his memories, everyone in the world remembered that the Heavenly Dao had returned to its rightful place. Logically speaking, everyone, especially those within the Xiān Gōng Sect, should have been overwhelmed with gratitude toward the restored Heavenly Dao.

The problem was that Long Yin himself made it nearly impossible to associate him with such a lofty title.

After recovering his memories, he showed absolutely no intention of returning to the Demon World. Even stranger, the demon generals of the Demon Palace seemed to have collectively forgotten they still had a Demon Emperor, currently living in the Xiān Gōng Sect.

Therefore, not a single summons arrived.

They all became silent sages who looked at their noses and contemplated their hearts.

Thus, Long Yin continued living in the Xiān Gōng Sect exactly as before, carrying on his leisurely yet officially title-less life as a resident son-in-law. Had everything remained unchanged, perhaps it would have been fine. But unfortunately, his behavior after recovering his memories was completely different from before.

Back when he was amnesiac, Long Yin had been exceedingly cautious.

Even when he overheard people speaking ill of him behind his back, he never dared confront them directly. At most, he would go complain to Feng Qingyun in private, terrified of doing anything that might displease him.

Now, however, despite the fact that the Dao companion ceremony still hadn’t taken place, Long Yin openly carried himself like the lawful spouse. He practically wanted to inscribe the words Sect Leader’s Feng Principal Husband across his forehead.

Every day he wandered throughout the Xiān Gōng Sect, making everyone nervous. People lived in constant fear that he might suddenly lose his temper and slap someone, but in truth, many members of the sect still felt guilty about what had happened in the previous life.

After all, Wei Fang had hardly been the only one who had looked down on Feng Qingyun, whether openly or in secret. But after going through so much, Feng Qingyun had grown accustomed to a comfortable life. In a good mood and feeling generous, he simply couldn’t be bothered to hold grudges.

Long Yin, however, was not nearly so magnanimous.

Especially when matters involving Feng Qingyun were concerned, his heart was probably no larger than the tip of a needle. So now that Feng Qingyun was too busy during the day to pay attention to him, Long Yin spent his time carrying the child around and sitting at the training grounds.

Like a local tyrant, he picked faults with the Xiān Gōng Sect’s disciples under the noble banner of helping Sect Leader Feng educate the younger generation.

The disciples suffered endlessly.

And while they suffered, they also had to endure Long Yin’s relentless sarcasm:

“Tsk. Successors of the Sword Master? Disciples of the Xiān Gōng Sect? This is all you’ve got?”

“New disciples are entering the sect. If you, Senior Brothers and Sisters, possess only this level of skill, how exactly are you supposed to command anyone’s respect?”

“In my opinion,” Long Yin drawled, “there’s no need for any of you to continue cultivating immortality. Going down the mountain to perform with trained monkeys would probably be more dignified.”

Quite a few disciples now turned pale the moment they opened their eyes in the morning and saw him sitting at the training grounds. One by one, they were beaten into questioning their entire existence. Many even lay awake at night reviewing memories from their previous lives, desperately trying to remember whether they had ever said anything behind Feng Qingyun’s back.

The worst part was that whenever Long Yin was “offering guidance,” he was always carrying the little merchild in his arms, so no one could even accuse him of neglecting his responsibilities. After all, his official duties in the Xiān Gōng Sect consisted of… caring for the child during the day and serving Feng Qingyun at night.

And whether he served well at night was known only to Feng Qingyun, but his childcare skills were unquestionably excellent.

The little merchild grew rounder by the day, practically turning into a ball, and no one knew what exactly Long Yin had been feeding it. Because of that, everyone could only watch as Long Yin rampaged through the Xiān Gōng Sect unchecked.

No one dared say a word.

Much less complain to Feng Qingyun.

After all, the entire Xiān Gōng Sect existed within Feng Qingyun’s divine perception. How could he possibly not know what was happening at the training grounds?

He simply chose not to interfere, ah!

Such open indulgence made the situation obvious to anyone with eyes, especially the disciples who had endured several days of beatings. Naturally, none of them were foolish enough to run to Feng Qingyun seeking justice.

And even setting Feng Qingyun aside…

Was Long Yin himself someone they could afford to offend?!

That was the incarnation of the Heavenly Dao!

Who knew whether he might one day become annoyed enough to recreate his old habit of striking immortals with heavenly tribulations and simply lightning-bolt everyone in the Xiān Gōng Sect who had ever spoken ill of Feng Qingyun?!

Thus, every disciple who stepped onto the training platform did so trembling with fear.

At one point, Bai Ruolin happened to visit, and the disciples nearly wept with relief.

“Palace Master Bai!”

To them, she looked like a savior descending from heaven, but unfortunately, Bai Ruolin, who in this life had also been personally beaten into advancing her cultivation back in the Demon Palace, merely smiled.

“Since Senior is kindly offering instruction,” she gloated, “you should accept it with humility.”

The disciples stared at her in disbelief.

Their final lifeline had vanished!

For a time, complaints echoed throughout the Xiān Gōng Sect, yet no one dared genuinely anger Long Yin. The thought of earning a personal slap from the Heavenly Dao itself was enough to silence them.

So no matter how miserable they became, they could only grit their teeth and endure.

When Yue Jinshu finally received the jade slip message and hurried all the way from the Demon World, the sight that greeted her was Long Yin sitting openly on the training grounds, scolding disciples with the ease of someone disciplining a flock of chicks.

She stood there dumbfounded, thinking that the Xiān Gōng Sect somehow looked more like a demonic stronghold than the Demon Palace itself. Even more astonishing, nobody seemed willing to object.

Though puzzled, Yue Jinshu had no time to investigate what exactly their Emperor was doing. After briefly paying her respects to Long Yin, she hurried straight into the Main Hall.

Yet Feng Qingyun appeared even more surprised to see her than she had been upon seeing the training grounds.

“Miss Yue? What brings you here?”

Yue Jinshu blinked.

Now she was even more confused.

“Wasn’t it Your Highness who summoned me to discuss holding the Dao companion ceremony for the two of you in the Demon Palace?”

“When did I ever send such a message?” Feng Qingyun froze.

Yue Jinshu: “…”

Feng Qingyun: “…”

The two stared at each other.

After a long silence, Yue Jinshu slowly produced a jade slip from her sleeve and handed it over, as Feng Qingyun lowered his eyes and read it.

“…”

The message was unmistakably written in his own tone… When he looked up again, he met Yue Jinshu’s gaze, and both immediately saw the amusement in each other’s eyes. Putting away the jade slip, Feng Qingyun could barely suppress his laughter.

“He really summoned you all the way here just for this?”

Hearing that, Yue Jinshu rubbed her nose. After a moment, she couldn’t help whispering: “…Has His Majesty become a little too eager to get married?”

The words had barely left her mouth when a voice suddenly sounded behind her.

“What exactly are you saying about this Lord behind my back?”

Long Yin appeared in the room like a ghost, still carrying the child, and Yue Jinshu immediately fell silent and turned to bow.

“Your Majesty.”

As for the fact that the mighty Demon Emperor spent every day carrying a child around the Xiān Gōng Sect while looking for people to harass, Feng Qingyun had heard plenty about it.

However, he simply chose not to comment.

After all, if he had not indulged Long Yin, nobody else would have tolerated such behavior in silence. Thus, Feng Qingyun didn’t even mention the training grounds. Instead, he smiled, asking, “You summoned her from so far away just for this?”

“What’s wrong with that?” Long Yin replied without the slightest shame. “Sect Leader Feng owes me two ceremonies. Surely you’re not planning to repay the debt after we ascend to the heavens?”

Feng Qingyun accepted the little merchild, who was reaching toward him for a hug. Looking at Long Yin with amusement, he replied: “Fine, fine. Two ceremonies means two ceremonies. I won’t shortchange you by even one. You can rest assured.”

Only then did Long Yin’s lips curve upward, but…

Immediately afterward, he launched into an extensive discussion regarding the ceremonies. According to his plan, the first Dao companion ceremony would not only be held in the Xiān Gōng Sect, but it would be celebrated with the utmost grandeur.

The purpose was simple:

The entire world needed to see it.

If the first ceremony were held in the Demon Palace, many righteous cultivators would undoubtedly refuse to attend on the grounds of political affiliation. But if it was held in the Xiān Gōng Sect, they would have no excuse. No matter how much they wished to decline, they would be forced to appear.

That was one reason he had summoned Yue Jinshu.

The second was so she could observe and prepare for the future ceremony in the Demon Palace.

As for the guest list for the Xiān Gōng Sect’s ceremony, His Majesty the Demon Emperor issued an especially important directive:

“Whoever Mu Hanyang invited, this Lord will invite as well!”

Seeing him so absurdly competitive, Feng Qingyun nearly laughed, thinking he wasn’t acting like a lawful spouse, nor like a second spouse. Rather, he looked suspiciously like a former mistress who had finally been promoted and was determined to prove a point.

“Invite them, invite them all,” Feng Qingyun teased while holding the child. “Back then, you weren’t even invited and still showed up anyway. How about I carve a memorial tablet for Mu Hanyang and put it somewhere nearby so you can vent your frustrations properly?”

To this, Long Yin responded with remarkable “generosity.”

“That won’t be necessary…”

“Too unlucky!”

Feng Qingyun laughed so hard he almost couldn’t continue. Lowering his head, he said to the little merchild: “Baby, your Father really has no dignity at all.”

Little Beichen was busy playing with the dragon scale it had fished out of Feng Qingyun’s clothing. Hearing this, it blinked and innocently asked:

“But doesn’t Daddy like Father exactly this way?”

The room abruptly fell silent. For some reason, the atmosphere froze. Clutching the dragon scale, the little merchild immediately became nervous.

“…Did Dandan say something wrong?”

“No, no, no! You said it perfectly!” Long Yin instantly brightened. “Your Daddy likes this Lord exactly as I am! He’s just stubborn and says the opposite of what he means! Our Beichen sees things much more clearly!”

Feng Qingyun shot him a half-annoyed, half-amused glance. Then he lowered his head and hugged the child closer. And this time…

He didn’t deny it.

However, exactly how the Dao companion ceremony would be arranged was something the two of them would need to discuss carefully later. For now, the disciple recruiting assembly remained the priority.

In the end, the date of the assembly was set for late autumn, the season of abundant harvests and ripened fruit.

News that the Xiān Gōng Sect would be opening its gates and accepting disciples spread across the world. Even in distant Fengdu, the place farthest from the Xiān Gōng Sect, people could be heard discussing it:

“Have you heard? The Xiān Gōng Sect is taking disciples!”

“I’ve heard that much, but I also heard that Sword Master Linshuang has no intention of accepting personal disciples.”

“Sigh, I heard the same. Even if he’s destined to ascend, being listed under his name would still be an incredible honor. Why won’t he even open a position for outer disciples?”

“Perhaps the Demon Emperor won’t allow it…”

The two matters had absolutely nothing to do with each other. No one had ever heard of a Dao companion interfering in whether their partner accepted disciples. Yet when that explanation was offered, the questioner froze. After exchanging a look with the speaker for three seconds, he actually nodded thoughtfully.

“You have a point, fellow Daoist. An excellent observation.”

The image of the mighty Heavenly Dao being so possessive that he practically wanted to keep his man tied to his belt had become deeply rooted in everyone’s mind. In its own way, it was almost a legendary romance.

The assembly lasted ten days. The first three days were dedicated to testing spiritual roots, the middle three days consisted of the formal Heavenly Gate trials, and the following three days were for assigning masters and sorting disciples into the inner and outer sects.

Finally, one extra day was reserved for a welcoming banquet, a chance for the new disciples to formally enter the sect and build relationships with the older disciples.

The entire event proceeded smoothly.

Although Feng Qingyun was required to preside over all ten days, nothing unexpected occurred. Compared to the endless burdens he had shouldered before, this almost counted as leisure. After the first nine days passed and the ceremony neared its conclusion without incident, the elders and disciples responsible for organizing it finally breathed a sigh of relief.

By all accounts, the assembly had been a complete success.

The only exception was Long Yin, who was thoroughly dissatisfied.

During the first three days of spiritual-root testing, Feng Qingyun technically didn’t need to be present, but as the event had only just begun, he still had to monitor everything closely.

The three days of Heavenly Gate trials ran day and night without interruption. Even when Feng Qingyun wasn’t physically present, part of his attention remained focused on overseeing the proceedings.

As for the final three days, he was even busier.

He simply had no time for Long Yin.

By that calculation, despite technically living in the Xiān Gōng Sect as a live-in husband, Long Yin had gone a full ten days without being “summoned” by Feng Qingyun. It would have been stranger if his mood had been good… So on the final day, during the banquet, Long Yin sat there holding their child, staring across the crowd at Feng Qingyun like a neglected spouse.

While delivering the opening remarks, Feng Qingyun endured that burning gaze upon him. The feeling left him both amused and inexplicably nervous.

Once his brief speech concluded, the banquet officially began.

Yet Feng Qingyun still couldn’t relax.

The elders immediately brought over lists of newly assigned disciples for him to review. Since official sect business was underway, Long Yin couldn’t very well interrupt him. Instead, he simply carried Little Beichen around and wandered repeatedly through Feng Qingyun’s line of sight.

And for some reason, Long Yin had chosen to wear a water-blue robe that day.

The outfit made him look outrageously eye-catching, as though he had suddenly become tens of thousands of years younger. He appeared every bit the dazzling, flawless gentleman, and Feng Qingyun found himself glancing up at him again and again.

Eventually, his distraction became so obvious that even the little merchild in Long Yin’s arms noticed. Assuming his father was no longer busy, Beichen immediately stretched out his arms, shouting, “Daddy, hug!”

Everyone in the discussion turned simultaneously toward the child, and naturally, they also noticed… the child’s absurdly conspicuous father. Under Long Yin’s half-smiling gaze, Feng Qingyun flushed red, as though he had been caught doing something embarrassing, as he hurriedly said to the child: “Be good. Daddy’s busy. Have your Father take you to the Chrysanthemum Terrace to play.”

Little Beichen was astonishingly obedient, nodding and allowing Long Yin to carry them away with a smile.

The Chrysanthemum Terrace was located beside the training grounds. Since the training grounds were currently being used as part of the banquet venue, quite a few disciples had gathered nearby, wine cups in hand, admiring the flowers.

The older disciples instantly sobered by half the moment they saw Long Yin approaching with the child, but unfortunately, many of the new disciples had never met him.

Most of them had only officially joined their sect the day before. Some had already become acquainted with their Senior Brothers and Sisters, but many had not. So those newcomers who hadn’t yet established connections naturally failed to recognize him.

After all, who would look at such a handsome and elegant gentleman, dressed beautifully, carrying an adorable child, and radiating the aura of a devoted husband and loving father, and think:

Ah yes, that must be the infamous Demon Emperor.

One new disciple was especially curious. Having drunk a little too much spiritual wine, he hesitated for a while before finally gathering the courage to approach.

“May I ask, Young Master…”

The moment Long Yin heard that form of address, he froze. Then, almost instinctively, he looked across the sea of people toward Feng Qingyun, seated high upon the platform. Unexpectedly, despite the distance, Feng Qingyun happened to be looking this way as well, and his eyes narrowed ever so slightly in displeasure. Yet the instant their gazes met, Feng Qingyun calmly looked away, as though nothing had happened.

It was an utterly insignificant detail, one that proved absolutely nothing, and yet… it made Long Yin feel as though spring had arrived.

His posture immediately straightened.

Little Beichen, who had been reaching for a chrysanthemum blossom, was jostled by the movement and looked up in confusion at its father, who suddenly resembled a peacock spreading its tail for no apparent reason.

Long Yin left the disciple hanging for quite some time before finally replying, completely at ease despite the horrified looks from those around him.

“You flatter me. I am hardly worthy of being called Young Master.”

“Oh… right, right. Greetings, Senior Brother. Forgive my rudeness.”

The disciple was remarkably dense and completely failed to notice the meaning behind everyone’s expressions, so he continued, “My name is Wei Jinguang, personal disciple of Elder Tuoba. May I ask under which elder Senior Brother studies?”

Long Yin smiled mysteriously, and the disciple grew even more confused. Then came an answer that confused him even further.

“To my shame, I belong to no master.”

“…Ah?” Wei Jinguang blinked. After a moment’s hesitation, he asked:

“Then may I ask what position Senior Brother holds within the sect?”

“Hardly an exalted position,” Long Yin smiled. “I merely serve as Immortal Lord Feng’s live-in husband.”

Around them, the older disciples collectively displayed expressions of profound exhaustion.

Ahh… Here he goes again.

Wei Jinguang, meanwhile, was completely bewildered.

“…Eh?”

“My apologies,” Long Yin sighed dramatically, as though speaking the pure truth. “I really shouldn’t say too much.” Then, he lowered his voice, continuing, “Just that one ‘Senior Brother’ from you today may already be enough for my Lord Husband to grow displeased with me tonight.”

In just a few sentences, he had transformed Feng Qingyun into a possessive immortal lord who kept male favorites and grew jealous over the slightest thing. The surrounding disciples immediately looked at him with indescribable expressions, thinking…

Does he really not fear getting beaten when he goes home tonight?!

Meanwhile, Wei Jinguang was thoroughly stunned. Apparently unable to imagine such scandalous affairs within an immortal sect, he rapidly filled in countless dramatic details on his own. After finally recovering, he stammered out several apologies before making an excuse and fleeing.

From atop the platform, Feng Qingyun had witnessed everything.

“…”

Long Yin immediately looked up and met his gaze, a smile playing on his lips. The moment Feng Qingyun saw that smug expression, he knew exactly what the man was thinking. Without hesitation, he turned away with a blank face and refused to acknowledge him further, hoping to avoid encouraging his increasingly shameless behavior.

Unfortunately, escape was impossible.

After a full day of celebration, the banquet finally came to an end.

The ceremonial robes of the Immortal Sect Leader were heavy and formal, so the first thing Feng Qingyun wanted to do upon returning to his chambers was remove them. Yet the moment his hand touched his belt, someone wrapped an arm around his waist from behind and caught his wrist.

Feng Qingyun’s eyebrow twitched.

Before he could speak, Long Yin’s pleased voice sounded beside his ear.

“I truly thought that, with your Sect Leader’s magnanimity, you wouldn’t be the jealous type.”

Feng Qingyun snorted softly and lifted his arms, as Long Yin obediently began helping him undress. Leaning back against him and allowing the man to loosen his robes, Feng Qingyun replied unhurriedly: “I think I should place a silencing spell on you. Then perhaps you’d stop spreading nonsense everywhere and making outsiders think I mistreat you.”

Long Yin removed the heavy outer robe and laughed. Then he hooked an arm around Feng Qingyun’s waist, lifted him effortlessly into his arms, and carried him toward the bed.

“How could Sect Leader Feng possibly be mistreating me?” He lowered his head and kissed Feng Qingyun’s lips. Then, without warning, changed the subject.

“…But there is one matter. As the saying goes, if the title is improper, the words cannot be justified. Now that the assembly is finished and the Xiān Gōng Sect has secured its next generation… shouldn’t the Sect Leader finally consider promoting me to the proper position?”

Feng Qingyun didn’t answer. Instead, he simply looked up at him and suddenly smiled, asking:

“What did you call me during the day?”

Long Yin’s throat tightened. Lowering his head to Feng Qingyun’s ear, he answered quietly:

“…My Lord Husband.”

Unable to suppress his smile any longer, Feng Qingyun wrapped his arms around Long Yin’s shoulders and whispered beside his ear: “Then serve your Lord Husband well tonight…”

“…and tomorrow, I’ll make you my legitimate spouse.”
