WCHM [Second World – ABO Plot – Poor Beta Student] Chapter 52

wchm

Under the neon lights, the scene outside the D Zone rest area was somewhat absurd.

The expressionless Alpha lifted his eyes, confronting the several hundred people in the distance with indifference.

It was the second day of the live combat competition, and security across the entire floating island was focused on the B to S class battle zones. The people gathered in there were either wealthy or powerful, either backed by financial conglomerates, the military Legion, or the Federal Research Institute. At minimum, they were third-class citizens. One of their lives was worth more than a hundred fourth-class citizens.

And the academy enforcement team existed to protect only them.

The world belonged to capital. Ordinary people did not deserve survival resources, much less personal safety. So when they heard that an orphaned Beta had beaten Luo Zexu until he had no power to fight back and even forced him into heat, everyone’s first reaction was boisterous laughter.

Zhou Xi, captain of the enforcement squad, tapped his cold, mechanical firearm, hiding the trace of impatience in his eyes well. He smiled and said, “Young Master Tang, Professor Luo isn’t just an A-class Alpha, he’s the eldest son of the Luo family, the Federal Chief household. Who in this academy would dare provoke him?”

“Security has been extremely busy these past two days. You and your friends shouldn’t tease us for fun.”

The few idle Alphas before him had a bit of money at home, but they weren’t major figures, and their rank was only B. Behind Zhou Xi stood the Zhou family, a second-class financial group, so there was no need to give them too much face.

Therefore, Zhou Xi was about to leave when Young Master Tang urgently stopped him, begging, “Captain Zhou, we’re not lying! Please bring people to the D-class battle zone immediately!”

What was supposed to be a night of amusement had halfway turned into a horror film, and Young Master Tang and the others didn’t want any connection to it. But on second thought, the fact that Luo Zexu had gone with them to find Lu Chi couldn’t be concealed. If the Luo family learned of it and discovered they had run away pretending ignorance…

Young Master Tang shuddered.

Zhou Xi frowned, about to speak, when the cold voice of the enforcement minister suddenly sounded in his earpiece: [Assemble Team 6. Arm yourselves and gather with the main unit at the A Zone entrance. Proceed to Rest Area s-77 in D Zone.]

[A member of the Luo family is being restrained. Teams 6 and 7 are to apprehend the suspect. If necessary, lethal force on the spot is authorized.]

Zhou Xi’s expression tightened, and he immediately turned solemn.

“Yes, Minister.”

The floating island glittered in the night.

Following the main force toward D Zone, Zhou Xi remained puzzled as he boarded the hovercraft, wondering: An orphaned Beta had actually taken the initiative to attack Luo Zexu? Was he insane or mentally unstable?

From afar, they could already see Luo Zexu’s disheveled figure lying on the ground. The A-class Alpha’s pheromones were overwhelmingly strong, detectable even from several hundred meters away. It was obvious he had been fed an excessive amount of heat-inducing drugs.

Zhou Xi could already hear the Luo family members ahead gnashing their teeth.

“Reckless thing! Daring to make Zexu so disgraceful…”

He curled his lips, knowing very well the reaction was only because the Luo family felt humiliated.

But that Beta had gone too far. Had he actually dared to resist an Alpha? And a member of the Luo family at that. Realistically speaking, even being noticed by him should have been considered a good fortune.

What Zhou Xi hadn’t expected, however, came next.

A silver mecha descended like a god of war, bringing with it a howling gale.

The S-class Alpha they were responsible for protecting, the very one who had just set the highest record in the live combat competition… Lin Jingsi himself appeared without warning, leaping in front of the silver-haired Beta and pulling him tightly into his arms, shielding him completely.

The next second, the Alpha raised his hand and, expressionless, aimed a gun at them.

It was the Legion’s latest portable laser firearm, powered by a new type of energy. Five shots were enough to burn everyone present to ashes, leaving not even bone fragments behind.

“…”

Had Lin Jingsi gone mad?!

The security team instinctively retreated, instantly deploying a floating protective shield and raising their guns toward him as if facing a great enemy, momentarily forgetting even the Luo family’s matter.

Then they saw the rising star pause.

Two seconds later, he lowered his head to look at the person in his arms. Beneath the broad coat, all they could see was a small tuft of gray-silver hair peeking out at the edge. The hair was slightly messy, like a kitten hiding in a human’s embrace, revealing just the tip of a fuzzy ear.

Kitten Lu Chi squeezed Lin Jingsi’s shoulder. Feeling the stiffness in his muscles, he smiled and leaned closer to his chest, deliberately brushing against him twice as he said, “Lin Jingsi, say something.”

The muscles along his body carried a careless, teasing brush of contact.

The young Alpha’s throat bobbed involuntarily. He hadn’t expected Lu Chi to still dare to be so bold at a time like this. With countless guns pointed at them, he could still smile lightly and flirt with him in public.

However, Lu Chi’s condition made Lin Jingsi relax slightly. The other’s mental state looked fine, and when he touched him, there were no signs of broken bones. He wasn’t in the worst state Lin Jingsi had imagined.

In comparison, Luo Zexu, sprawled on the ground like a dog in heat, looked even more miserable.

Lowering his head, Lin Jingsi explained calmly, “According to Federal regulations, anyone who assaults an A-class Alpha will be subdued on the spot and escorted to prison for sentencing.”

“If I kill them now, there will be no witnesses to what happened tonight.”

If Lin Jingsi had guessed correctly, the Beta in his arms was at most a fourth-class citizen.

Fourth-class citizens only enjoyed basic survival rights. If they publicly attacked or assaulted an Alpha or Omega above B-class, the Federal government would detain them on charges of endangering public safety and sentence them to at least ten years of imprisonment or labor service.

The Federation had no death penalty. However, if it were more serious, he might suddenly “disappear,” losing any trace of existence.

But Lin Jingsi was different.

He stood at the top of the pyramid, a special-class citizen, an S-class Alpha, and more importantly….

He was far more valuable than a mere Luo Zexu.

If he killed these people, the consequences he bore would at most be a simple reprimand from the Legion.

The Alpha’s voice was cold and indifferent. Lu Chi paused, feeling the intensity of this world’s hierarchy, but he still chose to say nothing. Under the effects of the drug, his body leaned closer to Lin Jingsi, like a kitten soaked by rain, lightly pressing against the other’s lower abdomen, which was similarly reacting.

Lu Chi closed his eyes and said concisely, “Don’t shoot. Let’s leave first.”

“……”

He always had a way and the confidence to command Lin Jingsi.

No matter which world.

No matter how many times they had met.

The Alpha pressed his lips tightly. After a moment, he cast an indifferent glance at the extremely tense enforcement team, then at Luo Zexu on the ground. As Luo Zexu’s heart pounded violently, Lin Jingsi coldly holstered his weapon, swiftly turned, and leapt back into the mecha.

Buzz.

The massive silver-gray mecha sealed its metal doors. A few seconds later, it rose nimbly into the air and vanished neatly into the flashing neon skyline. Cold sweat belatedly trickled down Luo Zexu’s back. After a moment, he vaguely heard the concerned exclamations behind him.

“Professor Luo, how are you?!”

“Don’t speak yet; take the suppressant before going to the hospital!”

“We’ve called a doctor. Let him lie here first…!”

Amid the flurry of activity, no one noticed that not far away, a corner of white clothing flickered. Seconds later, it disappeared outside the neighbouring rest area in D Zone.

A rich, fragrant pheromone scent rose and fell, quickly dispersed by the night wind, as a frail-looking Omega stared in the direction where the mecha had vanished. After a moment, he murmured thoughtfully:

“Lu Chi… Lu Chi…”

“Why didn’t this name appear in my dream?”

…………………………..

Lu Chi lifted his eyes and surveyed his surroundings, seeing semi-transparent floating screens and reflections in the glass.

The Protagonist’s mecha interior was spacious, comparable to a warship, filled with the cold metallic feel of machinery. At the moment, he sat on the conference table in the cockpit, a soft-textured coat beneath him, his breathing slightly unsteady.

Lin Jingsi stood before him, lowering his head as he soothed, “Tilt your head to the side. I’ll be done soon.”

In his hand was a special-effect suppressant.

It was the Research Institute’s newest drug, limited to thirty doses. Unlike previous medications that worked only on a specific gender, this one could calm heat cycles in all genders and had no side effects. It was a major breakthrough, and the results had not yet been made public. In the entire Federation, only three top forces could obtain ten doses each.

But Lu Chi didn’t know any of this.

He only glanced at the syringe, then at the obvious outline in Lin Jingsi’s trousers, raising a brow. “You’re sure you want to use the suppressant?”

Under the lights, the Beta forced into heat had a flushed face, and warm breaths spilled out as he inhaled and exhaled. His beautiful eyes, half-hidden beneath his bangs, shimmered with moisture.

Lin Jingsi stared at his lips. After a moment, he responded expressionlessly with a low “Mm.”

“You didn’t choose this.”

Lu Chi’s physical reactions were only because he had been forced into heat. Lin Jingsi didn’t want to coerce him, nor did he want the other to think he was overly lustful.

After all, two hours ago, they had still been kissing.

The long-haired Beta smiled, wrapping his thighs around Lin Jingsi’s waist, his calves swaying lazily back and forth. “But I took the drug myself,” he confessed.

Lin Jingsi paused. Once his vision cleared, everything about the Beta was laid bare in his eyes.

A beautiful face. Lively eyes.

But he was very thin, almost fragile, and his features looked even younger than Lin Jingsi had imagined. Under the neon lights, his long hair showed a malnourished gray hue, just long enough to cover his collarbones. The texture wasn’t good; the ends were dry and split, resting against his slender neck, light as snow.

The Beta’s features were delicate. His pupils were a warm, lively light brown. But when he looked at someone, it was as if there were a thin mist of drifting snow between them, an inexplicable coldness.

Commonly described as: born with a melancholy, saintly aura.

Lin Jingsi looked at him and frowned slightly, asking, “Why?”

A Beta’s glands were underdeveloped. After taking drugs to force a heat cycle, it should feel even more unbearable than it would for an Alpha or Omega.

“Because I don’t like looking at Luo Zexu,” Lu Chi smiled faintly.

Seeing how composed he appeared, Lin Jingsi narrowed his eyes. “…You knew I would come.”

He knew Lin Jingsi would rush to win the live combat match and find him. He also knew that seeing Lu Chi drugged would enrage him to the rare point of losing his rationality. And he knew that even if they left for now, a few days later, Lin Jingsi would still deal Luo Zexu a ruthless blow.

Lu Chi tilted his head with a smile, his voice slightly husky. “Yeah. If I weren’t afraid you’d kill someone, I would’ve let you beat him up long ago.”

As he spoke, the beautiful corners of the Beta’s eyes were already flushed red. In the air, there appeared a faint trace of a delicate snow-like scent, making Lin Jingsi’s throat bob. He reached out, intending to inject the suppressant with a “Your body can hardly endure this any longer… I’ll give you the suppressant first.”

Under the lights, the thin, soft fabric over Lu Chi’s chest showed two very obvious raised points. Beneath his abdominal muscles, there was also a slight lift, clear signs that the drug had taken effect and forced his body into a responsive state.

And yet, the Beta turned his head and swiftly avoided the suppressant.

The refusal was obvious.

…As if he wanted to do it with him.

Lin Jingsi froze. When the Beta, breathing unevenly, wrapped an arm around the back of his neck, desire surged violently in an instant.

But the next second, his breath caught.

Lu Chi’s diamond ring had been put away when he was drugged. Now, right in front of the Alpha, he slowly took it out of his pocket and lowered his head, carefully putting it back on himself.

The young Alpha’s pupils contracted sharply as he lifted his gaze. His deep green eyes suppressed their anger, yet still appeared fierce as Lin Jingsi reached out and firmly pressed down on the hand wearing the diamond ring, asking in an icy voice:

“What are you trying to do?”

“Wear his ring and sleep with me?”
